Jack Daniel's Single Barrel project began filling in January 1997. As the name indicates, each Barrel is filled separately. Each Barrel will have its (reasonably) unique taste and profile. According to Jack Daniel's only 0.5% of their whiskey would qualify to be used as a Single Barrel. The casks usually come from the higher regions of a Barrel house where, due to the large temperature fluctuations, the taste is better and the colour darker.

Jack's Safe often has a large proportion of Single Barrels Generations in stock in various types, sizes and packaging.
